### Schema Design
|
|
|
|
**ALWAYS follow these principles:**
|
|
|
|
1. **Proper Normalization**:
|
|
|
|
- Normalize to 3NF by default
|
|
- Denormalize strategically for performance (document why)
|
|
- Avoid redundant data unless justified
|
|
|
|
2. **Type-Safe Definitions**:
|
|
|
|
- Use Drizzle's type inference for TypeScript integration
|
|
- Export both Select and Insert types
|
|
- Leverage `.$inferSelect` and `.$inferInsert`
|
|
|
|
3. **Timestamps**:
|
|
|
|
- Include `createdAt` and `updatedAt` on ALL tables (mandatory)

- Use `defaultNow()` for createdAt
|
|
